but wait, there's more!
Pat says: Everybody had to start somewhere.

When I listen to President Bush I don't hear a President; I hear a liar. He looks and sounds like someone who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and got caught more than once. I shake my head and think "how does he get away with it?"
Today is George Orwell's birthday.
Orwell said, "The great enemy of clear language is insincerity. When there is a gap between one's real and one's declared aims, one turns ... instinctively to long words and exhausted idioms, like a cuttlefish squirting out ink."
I listened to an interview with Joe Lieberman today. Does he even think about what he's saying? Where are these leaders leading us. 75% blame BUSH for the bad economy.
And Orwell said, "If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear."
ps: i posted a nice little movie of the traffic and this sign on flickr click here
what is going on? lies, torure, incompetence.
Is anyone fooled by this man anymore?
Easter Island today has few trees. At one time is was covered with forests and the people cut down the trees to build houses and to move and erect the giant heads the island is famous for.
It's often debated: Who cut down the last tree and what were they thinking when the did it?
Now I'm asking myself "Who will pump up the last barrel of oil? How much will they sell it for and how much profit will they make?" I'm sure they will be thinking the way Newt Gingrich and other oil huggers are right now.

We were very surprised to have 23 today. Many, many honks and other displays of approval! Positive response is definitely growing and the few negatives seem insignificant by comparison.
Passersby seem more and more interested in making sure we see their thumbs up, and peace signs, hear their honks and supportive comments. More windows are rolled down and eye contact is made with us, and we acknowledge them with our peace signs, smiles, waves and shouts of THANK YOU! They want to make sure we are aware of their support and it's SO rewarding to have that exchange.

Ten people on the line today. More honks and thumbs up than usual. We are beginning to believe that we are making a difference in our little town after all!
Don't forget our 1 year anniversary, July 13. If you can't make the protest come to the activist party afterward and bring some friends!

Carmel Valley:
Carmel Valley ENOUGH had 9 great folks on the corner today .... we had to contend with Father's Day events, San Diego Fair parking and buses and U.S. Open parking and buses.
Lots of folks driving by today .... one nice lady stopped at 1:58 and gave us a dozen cans of soda. Will keep them for next week.
Plenty of honks and waves .... the usual few thumbs and fingers.
More and more large SUVs and military stickered cars are honking .... great sign.
Still soliciting ideas for our one year event on July 27th.
Peace to all, Gil
K from Campo gave me a bunch of really nice sale banners that I am finally painting up.
I always liked this old Hank Williams Jr song and paraphrased the line: "It's a new sign, thank God it's still the same."
I read were Jeorge McSame is calling Obama's Jimmy Carter's second term so I combined it all into this little video.
At least Carter can talk in complete sentences.

I think of this affirmation often. It makes me think about numbers. You often hear that 5 million people tune in to this program of 8 million listen to this station. It makes me think that 275 million don't listen or if you take the whole Earth 6.275 billion people don't listen.
The population of Iraq is 25 million (used to be 28 million but $h!t happened). Kosovo and Serbia was about 8 million. 19 terrorists attacked on 9/11.
How do the priorities get so out of whack?

Alix is riding a GENUINE SCOOTERS 125cc Buddy across America.
Her route will trace out a peace symbol on the map of our country!

Following 9/11, President Bush and seven top officials of his administration waged a carefully orchestrated campaign of misinformation about the threat posed by Saddam Hussein's Iraq.
President George W. Bush and seven of his administration's top officials, including Vice President Dick Cheney, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, made at least 935 false statements in the two years following September 11, 2001, about the national security threat posed by Saddam Hussein's Iraq. Nearly five years after the U.S. invasion of Iraq, an exhaustive examination of the record shows that the statements were part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretenses.
There was a comment related to Scott McClellan book: "Yeah but there's nothing new here. Yeah, Bush did all this, so what?"
Yeah, I got a few questions.
ps: thanks Pat! Harry Shearer is great!

yeah, I voted. Today was the statewide primary. Two propositions and some judges. Decline to state voters like me could have chosen to vote either a Republican, Democratic or non partisan ballot. Those who state a preference were forced to vote on that party's ballot, they could not chose a non partisan one.
Wow! I'm so excited to find out who won.

Our nation's self-respect demands impeachment.
By LINDA BOYDAbusing and terrorizing innocent people doesn't make us safer. Imprisoning people without due process doesn't make us safer. Violating our laws, treaties and values doesn't make us safer.
