I blogged these this morning about 8:30am. They were still up at 5:30pm.

Protest to me is being the change I want to see in others. I want to see others think about what's going on and voice their opinion. I don’t think our country is on the right track and I blog my opinion on the beaches and the freeways. I am pro-peace and I would love to hear the opinions of the anti-peace protesters in the manner in which it is sought.
Freewayblogging and beachblogging is independent protesting: independent of ‘the media’ and independent of ‘handlers’ or organization. I read the news and participate in user groups on the Internet to get ideas. There is a group of freewaybloggers and we do coordinate but we are fundamentally independent: anyone can be a freewayblogger just by doing it.
Action is the key. I get cardboard from the dumpster at work or at petco; I use the boxes that I get stuff in. I have a table and an easel in the garage. Most of the white paint is stuff I’ve had for years. I go to Dixieline and Frazee and buy the ‘mis-mixed’ paint for a dollar a quart. I bought a ½ gallon of black acrylic paint on sale and it is so nice to use, it just glides on. Photos of the process and the posts are part of the whole thing for me. The weblog reaches others.
When I beachblog people ask about what I’m doing and I enjoy that interaction; I’ve never had any confrontations. Freewayblogging is a blog and go (fast) process; I’ve never had a confrontation but I have gone out of my way to avoid the potential for one. I try to combine trips to save gas and when I go to organized protests downtown I take the trolley.
The Jack Lessenberry Show is what got me thinking about this

Hanukkah begins tonight at sundown. It's also called the Feast of Lights, a celebration of the reclaiming of the Holy Temple of Jerusalem in 168 BC.

*Cheney, Bush and Rumsfield

"Bwa Ha Ha Ha! Bwa Ha Ha Ha! Bwa Ha Ha Ha! Ha! Haaaaaaa."

Children learn from their experiences, adults learn from the experiences of others.
How do you explain people like Cunningham and Hunter? Those who glory in war and killing. Or a person such as John Murtha, who lived the experience and can see both sides of the War. Or Mr. Cheney who has other priorities and sees war as a photo-op if he happens to be in the neighborhood.
Mr. Bush has caused the death of tens of thousands in Iraq but the blood is on the hands of others. He doesn't have the mentality to learn anything from the killing. His response is to tighten security and plan for his own personal protection. He feels safe behind bars of his own making while the rest of the world is on the brink. Even the pretense of legitimacy of his regime is dissolving.
The neo-con agenda is: greed, fear, hate, fear, steal.
In his little sleevies.

It's about tolerance, about not giving in to that gut reaction of fear and hatred. It's about being better than you are. I wish Mr. Bush the best of luck.

in the picture that you paint of America.

I think when we look back from 10 years hence, we'll see that the year '05 was in fact a watershed year in terms of Neo-Con corruption; it is not only dishonest and reprehensible but also corrupt and shameless.
There are of course many possible outcomes. To look at it only in terms of victory or defeat is to be like a spoiled child who pouts when he doesn't get his way.
Thankfully we have strong leaders like Congressman John Murtha, Senators Russell D. Feingold, John E. Sununu, Ken Salazar and Patrick J. Leahy who will not give in to the despair and incompetence and will not give up on this fight for freedom.

Have your self a Merry Little Christmas!

Doctors: Senator Bill Frist typifies doctors today. They care more about money than patients. Medicine is just a stepping stone to another career: hospital owner, politician, drug pusher. Doctors are now so specialized they don’t even see the patient, only the organ or disease they know about. They rely on technology but know nothing about it, the machines they think are cutting edge are obsolete compared to the technology used in kids toys. Bill Frist used a year old video to make a diagnoses that turned out to be completely wrong.
"The goal is the same here," Hughes said on CBS' "The Early Show." "The goal is to make it very clear that the United States is a nation of laws and that we operate our detainee policy within our laws, within our international obligations and without torture."
You either torture or you don't torture. You either take bribes or you don't take bribes. The Bush/Reagan/Cheney/Rumsfield/Cunningham/Frist neo-con regime is not based on laws, it's based on lies, torture and bribes.

I have been thinking about graffiti because I noticed that after I blogged a fence by a wall once it got tagged shortly after. The pedestrian overpass I blog often also was freshly tagged the last time I was there. I wonder if these taggers consider my blogs an intrusion on their territory? I was blogging 1886 WHY? on the beach one time and two young guys challenged me: "What does that mean?" and when I told them it was the number of US soldiers killed in Iraq they backed off and even said "OK, you're cool for doing that."
Duncan Hunter, a close friend of Randall Harold Cunningham, the disgraced Congressman, has plans to develop Santa Rosa Island for use by special forces for training and recreation.
Meanwhile, procurement fraud investigation at Florida SOCom base expands. Part of this fraud involved financial contributions by military contractors to a nonprofit organization that ran social events for the special forces.
I think Santa Rosa is just another scam waiting to happen.

Are we on the right track? Maturity is not doing the first thing that comes into your mind. You are the sum of your life experiences. There are many experiences, once you have them, they are part of you forever. Once you take a life you can never give it back. With experience, black and white becomes gray; gray separates out into black and white.
I can see that the world exists and that I exist. I don't need a supernatural explanation of why I am here or how I came to be here. I find direction from my creative intuition; sometimes an idea seems to come from out of nowhere but I know I’m guided by my own experience and what I have seen or heard or read. I can marvel in wonder at the scenery of the earth around me and the planets and stars in the sky above. Seeing and creating brings joy.
Fear, anger and hate blocks all that out; they create suffering and pain. Pride and greed suck out the hope and love. “You’re either with me or against me” doesn’t promote harmony. You have to counter hate with love, anger with understanding.
We’re on the right track; our leaders aren’t.
May the beach be with you

The way to end a tug of war is to let go of your end. Who are you fighting? What will you have when the war is over?
I’m not a Christian but I know a good prayer when I see it:
Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.
St. Francis of Assisi - 13th century
O Breathing Life, your Name shines everywhere!
Release a space to plant your Presence here.
Envision your "I Can" now.
Embody your desire in every light and form.
Grow through us this moment's bread and wisdom.
Untie the knots of failure binding us,
as we release the strands we hold of others' faults.
Help us not forget our Source,
Yet free us from not being in the Present.
From you arises every Vision, Power and Song
from gathering to gathering.
Amen -
May our future actions grow from here!
the lord's prayer - from the original Aramaic
peace on Earth, goodwill to all men!

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...
Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...
Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.

Peace

How much do you think you paid for this tank?
How much do you think you paid for this NATIONAL STRATEGY FOR VICTORY IN IRAQ? How much is peace worth? How much is war worth? 2.1K Why?
The following links are cited in the STRATEGY:
www.mnstci.iraq.centcom.mil
www.state.gov/p/nea/rls/rpt/iraqstatus/
www.usaid.gov/iraq

Americans can read and assess these reports to get a better sense of what is being done in Iraq and the progress being made on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Do you feel safer now?
I don't think that this is a noble cause. The middle east has a history of civilization and social structure that pre dates the democratic society of the west and the US by millennium. The definition of victory as a free and democratic government seems like just a smoke screen for the oil companies having free reign to exploit the oil reserves. The economy of Iraq is a prominent feature of the strategy.
The Iraqi constitution establishes Islam as the state religion and establishes Iraq as an Arab Nation. This isn’t very democratic in the western sense; which side of victory is this on?
Who hasn’t walked on a beach and scratched their name in the sand? Or made a heart with two sets of initials in it? What was once just child’s play is now... beachblogging! Beachblogging is all about Peace. Be the change you want to see in others.
